Measuring Success: Past, Present, and Future

"Scholar-Athlete Games graduates are already at work developing their respective Pathways to Peace projects, which range from a cochlear implant initiative for impoverished children in Mexico, to an agricultural micro-loan project to help African families become self-sustaining."
- Alan Hassenfeld, Chair, Institute Scholar-Athlete Games Programs Chair, Executive Committee, Hasbro Inc.

The Institute will evaluate the success of the Summit through a variety of means, including:

  • Input from surveys of participants and partners, covering all aspects of the event.
  • Extensive media coverage before, during, and after the event.
  • Participation in future Institute events, especially subsequent World Youth Peace Summits.
  • Impact of participants’ community projects: Did they make a difference? How?
    • Results from participant surveys at past Institute events have been overwhelmingly positive.

    • The 2006 World Scholar-Athlete received the federal government's highest possible rating.

    • Atlantic Philanthropies, which has funded the Institute for 23 consecutive years, consistently refers to the Institute as among its very finest philanthropic investments.

World Youth Peace Summit Research Team
The Institute for International Sport is now in discussions with a team of distinguished academicians regarding the formation of a World Youth Peace Summit research team. The research team, and the scope of the research, will be announced on this website in the fall of 2010.
