2011 World Youth Peace Summit
Overview

"I have been in education for more than four decades. Never have I seen a project with more potential to do good for our world than the 2011 World Youth Peace Summit."
Chuck Hamblet, Former Headmaster, St. George's School, (RI)

  • In July 2011, the inaugural World Youth Peace Summit will bring together thousands of alumni from the Institute's Scholar-Athlete Games programs. The event's geographic focus will include every country in the world.

  • The purpose of the Summit is to train these current and former scholar-athletes and scholar-artists as community leaders, to help them develop peace initiatives for their home nations, and to give them the tools to successfully implement their programs.

  • These young leaders will create a grassroots global network of peace advocates and foster a more peaceful world.

  • Held in conjunction with the Institute's 25th anniversary and 2011 World Scholar-Athlete Games, the Summit will mark the culmination of the Institute's quarter-century of work with youth toward building a more peaceful world.

  • The Summit will be held every five years.
