KEY COMPONENTS
Before the Summit
The World Youth Peace Summit is not only a four day event. It begins in 2010 with several components including:
- Peace Lectures
Beginning in the fall of 2010, major speeches by internationally renowned individuals will be given all across the United States.
In addition, local classrooms and communities will lead discussions on peace and invite regional speakers to give a Peace Lecture. Learn more about these local opportunities here.
- Pathways to Peace projects
The preparation of Pathways to Peace project draft proposals by all participants of the Summit.
You can learn more about the Pathways to Peace project here.
- Peace Walks
On May 21 and 22, 2011, just over a month before the opening ceremonies of the World Scholar-Athlete Games and World Youth Peace Summit, the Peace Walks program will take place across the United States and in countries throughout the world. Thousands of good citizens who are committed to world peace will organize walks, ranging in size from small groups of friends to large community-wide events. Funds raised from these walks will support the programs of the World Youth Peace Summit and the opening of the Center for Social Entrepreneurship.

During the Summit
During the Summit, participants will have an opportunity to engage in workshops, training sessions, speeches, discussions related to peace history and peace building. The Summit’s high-powered curriculum will emphasize social entrepreneurship with a lasting impact.
After the Summit
At the conclusion of the Summit, curriculum modules will be made available for peace education, especially in elementary and middle schools. In addition, an extensive follow-up educational program will be housed at the ongoing Center Social Entrepreneurship (CSE), that will be launched at the conclusion of the Summit. The CSE will support participants as they move forward with projects in their respective communities. As more peace projects are launched, the CSE will support a web-based World Youth Peace Summit Social Network and offer streaming web content and opportunities for online participation and interaction.
